Build Marketing Strategy Grounded in Your Own Data

Let Cluing AI Chat turn your collected insights into a winning marketing strategy.

Turn Scattered Research into a Living, Actionable Strategy

You've just signed a new client. They want a marketing strategy in two weeks. You have a kickoff call's worth of notes, a few competitor URLs you bookmarked, and a vague sense of the market, but nothing structured yet.

So you open ChatGPT and type: "Create a marketing strategy for a B2B SaaS company." The output looks professional. It also looks exactly like what you'd get for any other B2B SaaS company. Nothing in it reflects what you actually know about this client's market, competitors, or audience.

That's the gap Cluing closes.

Instead of starting from a blank prompt, you build your research in Cluing as you go - saving competitor posts, audience comments, industry articles, client feedback - and then bring all of it into AI Chat when you're ready. The strategy the AI produces is built from what you've actually collected, not from generic assumptions about your industry.

Here's how the workflow looks in practice.

Step 1: Collect Research as You Find It

You don't need to do a dedicated research session before you start. The point is to save things as you encounter them - a competitor LinkedIn post here, a Reddit thread about customer pain points there, a newsletter with an interesting industry take.

Create a few Topics in Cluing to keep things organized from the start:

  • Competitor Research - save ads, landing page copy, and messaging examples from competitors you want to track

  • Audience Insights - save posts, reviews, forum threads, and any direct feedback that reflects how your target customer thinks and talks

  • Industry Trends - save articles, newsletters, and reports that give you a picture of where the market is heading

Save content using the browser extension on desktop - one click captures the full post, not just a link, so it stays in Cluing even if the original gets deleted. On Mobile, use the Share button from any app to send content straight to your Inbox.

Don't worry about filing everything perfectly as you go. If your Inbox fills up, ask the Workspace Organizer in AI Chat to sort your snippets into the right Topics before you start the strategy work.

Step 2: Ask AI Chat to Build the Strategy

Once you have research across your Topics, open AI Chat and @mention the Topics you want the AI to work from.

Type @ followed by the Topic name and it appears inline in your prompt. The AI reads everything saved in those Topics and works from it - your specific competitors, your specific audience language, your specific market context.

For the new client scenario, you might start with:

  • "Based on @Competitor Research and @Audience Insights, what positioning angle do you think we should own and why?"

  • "Analyze the messaging patterns in @Competitor Research and tell me where the gaps are."

  • "Using @Audience Insights, identify the 3 main pain points our messaging should address."

  • "Draft a 90-day content plan based on the gaps and opportunities you see in @Competitor Research and @Industry Trends."

The AI doesn't just produce a generic framework - it references what's actually in your Topics, which means the output reflects the specific market you're working in.

You can also ask it to pull in current information from the web to supplement your saved research - useful when you want to combine your own collected context with up-to-date data you haven't had time to save yet.

Step 3: Refine the Strategy in Canvas

When you have a response worth developing, ask AI Chat to move it into Canvas: "Write this up as a structured strategy document in Canvas."

Canvas is Cluing's built-in editor — the output lands there as a document you can edit directly. This is where the strategy stops being an AI answer and starts being something you own.

From Canvas you can:

  • Rewrite sections that need more specific context or a different angle

  • Ask the AI to expand on a section, shorten it, or try a different tone, all without leaving the document

  • Add your own knowledge, client context, or strategic instincts that the AI didn't have

  • Remove anything that doesn't fit the actual situation

The document stays in your workspace. When priorities shift or new research comes in - a competitor launches something new, a client adds a constraint - you go back to AI Chat, add the new context, and update the strategy from where you left off.

Step 4: Share with the Client

When the strategy is ready, share it directly from Cluing.

You can give your client view or comment access - they see the document with the sources intact, can leave feedback in comments, and can contribute their own context directly.

No emailing PDFs back and forth. No "can you send me the latest version." The strategy lives in one place, and everyone works from the same place.

When it's time to present, export it or copy it into your preferred format - presentation, brief, internal doc - wherever it needs to go next.
